Hard working single parents going to school in the San Francisco Bay Area have a new reason to smile now that SF ASPIRE has come to town. San Francisco CA ASPIRE
(Assisting Single Parents in Reach of Education) has just launched and hit the ground running. Still in it's infancy, SF ASPIRE is already searching for both donors and candidates for scholarships for the upcoming summer session. ASPIRE's non profit program provides scholarships as well as Internships to single parents that help them with school and living expenses such as books, food, school fees, transportation, housing, childcare, medical expenses and utilities.
"SF ASPIRE's non-profit program helps more than just the single parent that receives the scholarship, it benefits us all by decreasing the number of single-parent households that rely on State or Federal assistance thereby impacting generations of Americans. By breaking the cycle of poverty for many who would otherwise have no means of attaining higher education, we can use a relatively small amount of money to create real and lasting change in families' lives." says Founder Dao Jensen.
"We are seeking donors, especially in the Tech sector, to offer internships - as well as financial contributions" says Vice President Ben Cannon
In Arkansas affiliate alone alone over $1.75m dollars have been contributed by companies to enable 2000 individuals to achieve a post secondary education.
"If you know a single parent attending an accredited college please get them in contact, we would love to be able to help!" says board member Michelle Cannon
SF ASPIRE is accepting applications from college-enrolled single-parents now, applicants can apply at: www.sfaspireus.org
