New Moving Music from North Carolina Songwriter, Johnathan Miller!
New York, NY, April 27, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Johnathan Miller isn't almost unknown in the music industry. Living most his life in North Carolina he found music to be his escape. He's had a rough history, a detailed past that can span chapters upon chapters of a international bestseller; if one was ever released by him. Johnathan resided in the North Carolina foster care system after his mother and grandmother passed away. "Growing up was kinda hard, ya know? But I seriously had to take the moments I had of any pain and drown myself in music. I literally lived for music. I always knew that's what I wanted to do." So, Johnathan graduated high school and started working on his plans. Not too long after, he was picked up by small recording label exec, Alexander Mitchell. We recently reached out to Alexander to ask about his comments on Johnathan's small town success. "Johnathan? Johnathan is a determined individual. He don't care who you are. If you're in his way, and he sees the competition, he'll move you out of the way. He's already been recognized for his music in the top recording labels of the U.S. Hell, he even published for Mariah [Carey's] team! There is nothing that Johnathan can't do. And I think I'll always respect him for that. I wish Johnathan the best in everything he'll ever do." Back in October of 2011, Johnathan and Mitchell were not coming to terms on a Universal Music publishing negotiation deal, and Johnathan backed out and went with publishing giant, Sony/ATV. Johnathan has since then released a studio EP, three singles and one studio album. He is now on his final studio album before taking a hiatus to finish is Master's in Business. "School was always and is a very important factor in my life. I mean, yeah, I can write you a song and I'll place my heart and soul into the music. But going to finish my college education has always been a main event in my life. I've enjoyed the music. I am not leaving indefinately. I will still record, session play, sing live and all that...but not for a commercial company. I will do it simply because I love to do it." And speaking of loving to do music, his new single "Ghost" comes out this morning. I asked him what the song is about. "It's about a maternal figure that is constantly adding and subtracting from my life." he says in a saddened tone. "She will always be apart of me, but I feel we are falling apart and she is becoming this figure that I used to know. But after we had some disagreements, my feelings grew dead to her. So, in a metaphorical way, she really became this ghost that I wanted around me. I didn't wanna let her go!" He said, "I hope that she knows the song is my way of letting her know that I still lover her. I still want her to speak into my life. I just don't want the unecesary drama to come along with it. Yes. I am not perfect. But, neither is her or her family. After all, THEY invited me into THEIR home and family. Forget what I've said to you. Hurtful things we all say to each other. I've done forgiven you, now it;s time to move on. They are holding on to what I've done and not letting it go. It's hindering my relationship with this family and her. That maternal figure, to answer the questions to those that wanted to know, is dandelion. She is the key word."
Johnathan releases the new single from "Breakaway" his second album at 9:00 this morning. "Ghost" is a truly, hauntingly, very precisely written ballad about a person who languishes and stuggles to obtain their loved ones moral standards. Simply because they were raised as a different breed. They're not the same. But in every way possible. They are in some ways. The protagonist doesn't want to see this person lose their love in them. The "Ghost" is always supposed to be there for him. A love that has once died from bitter disagreements and painful experiences.
"I hope that she knows the song is my way of letting her know that I still lover her."
