New Lin28 Antibody Announced by Novus Biologicals
Online, January 24, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Lin28 is marker of undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells. Novus Biologicals is excited to announce a new rabbit polyclonal anti-Lin28 antibody for stem cell research (catalog # NBP1-49537).
Novus' new Lin28 antibody is useful for immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry and Western blot. By Western blot, Lin28 antibodies recognize a band at approximately 29kDa. This new Lin28 antibody was validated by Western blot on NTERA-2 cell lysate and 293T cells overexpressing LIN28. This Lin28 antibody cross-reacts with human and mouse. The immunogen to which this antibody was made is a partial recombinant human Lin28 protein [Swiss-Prot# Q9H9Z2] expressed in E. coli.
Lin28 has been used to enhance the efficiency of the formation of induced pluripotent stem cells from human fibroblasts. Lin28 acts as a 'translational enhancer,' driving specific mRNAs to polysomes and thus increasing the efficiency of protein synthesis.
As an embryonic stem cell marker, Lin28 is closely related to Sox2, OCT4 and Nanog. Browse other stem cell marker products from Novus Biologicals here.
