New Jersey Family Wins Grand-Prize in National Healthy Lifestyle Contest
Online, November 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - For the winning family from Freehold, NJ, participating in ZisBoomBah's contest turned into much more than playing a game to win. Day by day, The Challenger Calendar proved to change the Pardees' lifestyle. "The biggest impact for us as a family is that it allowed us to work together to create easily achievable but worthwhile goals to accomplish," says Carol Pardee, the mother. By week 2, her computer-savvy daughter was "very much on board," setting personal goals for herself like "jumping rope more" and "practicing tennis serve."
The goals Carol Pardee put on her daughter's Challenger Calendar varied between chores (e.g. setting the dinner table), a better diet (e.g. eating fruit with breakfast), exercise, exercise, creative pursuits and personal goals (e.g. practicing tennis serve). In addition to the ZBB points all kids playing the game earn for achieving goals, Perdee assigned occasional extra rewards for her daughter, like a manicure or buying supplies at the crafts store. Using the app, she says, "helps make chores more pleasant." Pardee appreciated the daily email feedback she received through the app on her daughter's progress towards accomplishing goals.
To participate in the contest, families had to use The Challenger Calendar during the months of September and October and regularly blog about the experience on ZisBoomBah's blog.

ZisBoomBah.com is revolutionizing the "game" approach to educating kids about healthy eating and is proving their model with success stories from families such as the winners of this contest, the Pardee Family who is an active member on the website.
The Challenger Calendar Contest was a national contest and promoted through ZisBoomBah.com and their 8,000 users, social media sites and national media.
The contest was held from September 1st - October 31st.
The Challenger Calendar a game for achieving goals
The national contest was based on a goal setting game recently launched on ZisBoomBah.com called The Challenger Calendar. The Challenger Calendar creates an organized, categorized list of goals (chores, achievements, things to do, etc.) for each child in the family and keeps track of her deeds online.
By achieving goals and checking them off on their very own Calendar kids get to receive points from ZisBoomBah.com that they can use to purchase accessories for their personalized antvatar, a virtual ant character. Parents can also have the option of giving awards on a weekly basis for their kids (optional). The Challenger Calendar has proven to impact kids healthy choices and empowers them to make their own personal healthy goals.
