On January 1st of this New Year Annie Edmonds who entered an excerpt called, Disrespecting the Judge was named a finalist in the 2013 competition. She never imagined getting so close to the grand prize which was having her novel made into a feature film.
The author from NJ had no idea the excerpt from her debut erotic romance novel Second Chances Sammy's story would then be named a runner at the conclusion of MARSocial Author of the Year Competition on January 31st 2014.
"When you go up against 160 excerpts from amazingly talented indie authors who are submitting in every genre it's really an honor. I have met some of the nicest people from all over the world and we plan on keeping in touch through social networks."
"I am very happy that the excerpt from my debut erotic romance, Second Chance Sammy's story made it as far as it did. It lets me know I'm doing something right and that I'm on the right track. I never thought I would win, and figured I had a snowballs chance in Florida that my erotic romance would ever be picked for a feature film."
The authors started by tweeting their own excerpts out on Twitter and sharing on Facebook. Then they did something that is almost unheard of in a competition. They decided to not only tweet their own excerpts but to tweet all their fellow authors excerpts too. For three months every day the authors who took this competition seriously helped each other by getting the excerpts out to millions of people.
