New Delhi GTUG Announces "DevFestX"

New Delhi GTUG has announced its first ever developer conference. Christened "DevFestX",
it is scheduled to be held on 11-12th Feb'12. The two day conference which aims to
bring together Google technology enthusiasts from all experience levels, from new users
to core developers, will be held at Google India Office at Gurgaon. "Google has been
gracious enough to provide us with the venue." said Shrey Malhotra, Manager, New Delhi
GTUG. "We are confident that the conference will be highly successful in drawing massive
participation from reputed companies, start-ups and developing companies and user groups
as well as individual developers with a keen interest in Google technologies." added Shrey.
Spread over a period of two days, "DevFestX" provides a platform for companies who are
looking for developers to interact with and get involved with the developer community of
Google. It will contain talks and discussions by developers on Google technologies used in
everyday life like Android, Chrome, App engine, HTML 5 etc. Along with these sessions the conference will showcase an Android App Sprint in which the developers come out with a prototype Android App in concept, design and functionality, developing all through the day. The aim of the conference is materializing an integrated community of developers making it easy for everyone to reach out and help each other in their future endeavours.
Google Technology User Groups (GTUGs), www.gtugs.org is an exciting global community
driven initiative. GTUGs are open groups for users & developers interested in leveraging
Google's Developer Technologies everything from platforms like Android, App Engine,
Google Web Toolkit to about 80+ APIs (full list at: code.google.com). Globally there are 335
chapters spread across 95 countries having conducted 564 events in last 6 months (more
than 3 events per day globally). In India there are currently 28 chapters. New Delhi GTUG is
one such chapter of the global GTUG initiative located in the capital city. It aims to provide
an opportunity for developers to learn and collaborate with each other and experts on
Google technologies like Chrome, Android and about 80+ APIs. New Delhi GTUG has been
very active in the past organizing hackathons, sessions and meetings.
