New Business Opportunity Comes From A High School Students Attempt To Raise Money While Offering A Service To The Community
Online, January 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The best ideas usually come from the most unlikely of places. Take "Ad & Carry" for example, a High School Student from a small town was looking for a way to raise money for her school's sports program. She turned to a family friend for assistance in the development of a potentially new program and together they address a problem everyone has experienced if they have ever gone grocery shopping, at the same time provides an opportunity for local businesses. Everyone knows what it's like to carry all those heavy shopping bags especially if you try to carry all of them at once, then you get home and everything has turned over in the car. They have come up with a type of handle, which is surprisingly made out of paper and will support more weight then a person would want to carry. Not only can you transport everything at once but, built into this ingenious product is a self locking design which keeps everything together. If that wasn't good enough news, they designed it so multiple businesses could advertise on it, thus making it free to the customer.
Ad & Carry was created in Salisbury, NC, as a fundraising opportunity by Hannah Pressley, a student at East Rowan High and Michael Webb, a veteran in product development and design, both came together to find a concept unique enough. "I have worked on similar projects and was glad I could help. I also saw this as a great learning opportunity for Hannah. However, I am surprised to see the response it is receiving so early", said Webb. Still testing in a small market before branching out, it is already receiving interest from brand names including the new John Boy & Billy Sweet Tea, currently available at Food Lion stores, John Boy & Billy Big Show is a hugely successful morning radio show heard across the US.
Ad & Carry offers multiple panels for advertising purposes however they are receiving more inquiries to be part of this project than they planned. "We had only planned to do this within the immediate community of the high school, but because of the request to be involved. We will have to rethink the overall project", added Webb.
