New Advocacy Book Seeks to Reduce Pedestrian Fatalities, Empower Families with Legal Rights in San Francisco, CA

With pedestrians in San Francisco four times more likely to be killed in an accident than other US cities, CA injury lawyer, Vaughn de Kirby hopes to reduce such accidents with his new book, "The Pedestrian Survival Guide-Safety Rights Recovery".

While walking, biking and skating are a favorite past-time for many San Francisco residents, the prevalence of pedestrian accidents makes these activities extremely dangerous-and potentially deadly according to national safety advocate, California accident attorney, and author of "The Pedestrian Survival Guide-Safety Rights Recovery," Vaughan de Kirby.

According to de Kirby, statistics prove that just short of 50% of all traffic fatalities in San Francisco involved pedestrians, a number that is nearly four times the national average. Additionally, a large number of these cases involved children who were simply unaware of simple safety strategies that could have saved their lives.

"The pedestrian fatality rate in San Francisco is astronomical. Many of these accidents were preventable, and even after the fact, many victim's families truly weren't informed of their rights in the situation. That is why I've written 'The Pedestrian Survival Guide-Safety Rights Recovery,' to hopefully reduce pedestrian accidents dramatically in San Francisco, and educate victims on their rights without having to contact an attorney".

For that reason, de Kirby is offering "The Pedestrian Survival Guide - Safety Rights Recovery" free of charge to San Francisco residents. De Kirby is part of Consumer Rights Alliance™ a group made up of authors, attorneys and speakers who are committed to empowering the consumer with important information on safety and their legal rights.

"While the book is available for purchase nationwide, it's important for me to get them into the hands of San Francisco residents free of charge until we can get a handle on the pedestrian fatalities here. Parents, avid bikers, skaters, runners, school officials and groups that work with children will all find this information extremely valuable in the fight to reduce accidents."

Local residents and victims of a pedestrian accidents in San Francisco are calling this book 'a must read,' as it walks the layman through finding the right lawyer if an accident occurs, working with a doctor to properly document injuries and most importantly, how to navigate your relationship with the insurance representative or as Vaughan de Kirby puts it "why the insurance adjuster is not your friend."
