Never Carry a Bag Again!
New Service, PaktBag, Utilizes a Closet-Sharing Network, to Enable Baggage-Free Travel for Frequent Business Travelers
Richmond, VA, January 25, 2016 (Newswire.com) - For most business travelers, carrying a suitcase is more like Sisyphus pushing his rock. There’s the packing, the checking, the dragging, the repacking, the waiting, and occasionally even the losing – all for the same familiar set of toiletries, shirts, and underwear. Not to mention airline luggage fees. Now, a new service has launched that aims to resolve that endless drudgery. For only $60 per trip, PaktBag offers frequent travelers the ability to securely and efficiently store their things in a destination city and have it arrive at their hotel, totally hassle-free, on-demand. No more fighting for overhead space or worrying about checking a bag.
To accomplish this logistical feat, PaktBag uses a network of closet owners (“hosts”) who leverage and “share” unused space at home to store travelers’ (“guests”) things until their arrival in town, at which point the host packs them into a convenient box and delivers it to the guest’s hotel. When ready to return home, the guests leave their things behind per the instructions in the box. PaktBag takes care of the rest: the picking up, the cleaning, and the storing. The guests’ belongings are 100% insured in case of damage or theft.
"I was going to Sao Paulo, Brazil, almost every five weeks for business.....One day while waiting to board a plane I noticed my heavy bag and thought 'Why am lugging the same things with me over and over again?….Why not just leave this stuff there?' …So I asked a colleague to store my things in his closet..."

“I was going to Sao Paulo, Brazil, almost every five weeks for business,” explains PaktBag founder Matt Hudson. “One day while waiting to board a plane I noticed my heavy bag and thought ‘Why am lugging the same things with me over and over again?….Why not just leave this stuff there?’ …So I asked a colleague to store my things in his closet...”
The process is practically effortless and begins when a guest signs up at www.paktbag.com. They will then receive a prepaid shipping box. After filling it with their clothes and other travel items they simply drop it in the mail. The host receives the box and stores the items neatly in their closet until needed. For each closet you set up there is a $99 annual fee. Each trip you take there is $60 bag packing fee.
Besides the convenience for travelers, the PaktBag platform is a great way for “hosts” to monetize their excess space and earn a supplemental, steady income with flexible hours. “Both my daughters have gone off to college, leaving behind a big, empty house. I am looking forward to putting all this extra space to work to help pay for tuition and put away some extra money for retirement”, Sharon, PaktBag host.
PaktBag is currently running in beta mode and is looking for a number of early pioneers, both hosts and guests. Frequent travelers (domestic or international) and people with extra storage/closet space are encouraged to visit the website and sign up.
