New York, NY - NEUAURA Footwear has aligned themselves with an eco-friendly facility to manufacture their line of high-quality, vegan footwear. NEUAURA has always been dedicated to the protection of animals and the environment so the partnership with this facility was a perfect fit. The manufacturing facility has adopted amazing and forward thinking practices in the realm of recycling, community education and the preservation of our eco-system.

Located in the southern part of Brazil, the manufacturing facility is situated in the mountains and surrounded by lush greenery. The residents of this area are closely connected to their environment and realized the importance of preserving the eco-system and the natural beauty around them. The employees of the factory come from generations of shoemakers where knowledge of shoemaking has been passed down for generations. NEUAURA prides itself on providing the highest quality in vegan footwear and the skills and craftsmanship the employees of the facility have add an overall finesse and quality to NEUAURA shoes.

The recycling facility plays a major role in bringing awareness to the manufacturers and the community in the region. This facility recycles the scrap that is created during manufacturing process. In the factory that produces NEUAURA shoes, every work station has five waste bins that are color coded to show what type of scraps to throw into the bins. The factory organizes the waste and sends it to the recycling facility who will sort the waste by type. Organization and attention is important in the facility to ensure that everything gets disposed of properly. Around 65% of the scraps and waste the facility receives is recycled. The portions that are non-recyclable are stored in an area nearby. Since these items can potentially be toxic to the land they have created a layer between the ground and the waste so that no chemicals or toxins can seep into the ground. They also work very closely with universities on the research and development of new recycling technologies. As new technology becomes available the previously non-recyclable materials are easily accessed and transported back to the facility to be recycled.

The facility was started by two ecologists living in the area of Brazil. They realized the necessity for having this facility in order to preserve their environment and increase awareness within their community. They run several art programs and workshops with local schools. The goal is to teach children to create art with the scraps which helps instill a mindset to think twice before throwing something away. Educating the community and the next generation is one of their top priorities. This is the only facility in the world that has adopted this type of set up. The UN also visited this facility to see how they operate in hopes of showing other parts of the world how to adopt their methods.
