Los Angeles, California - Formerly from Norway and now a fixed member of Los Angeles' art scene, Edvarda Braanaas is one of twelve contemporary artists to be featured at "A Public Art Exhibition" in conjunction with the DO art foundation and LA Art show, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Braanaas' unique narrative art features distinctive pop-cultural imagery inspired by film, fashion, advertising, art history and literature. Her epic series of narrative paintings titled Mnemosyne, is based on Braanaas' three-year journey in Los Angeles. Her work has been showcased throughout Europe and Scandinavia, and her Mnemosyne paintings will be displayed in vast scale for the first time in Los Angeles at the LA art show on January 29, 2016, 7-9pm.
About Edvarda Braanaas
Edvarda Braanaas is a Norwegian artist based in Los Angeles. Over the years, she has developed a unique style that melds various pop culture imagery with her love of literature, fashion, film and photography. She is known for "Dostoevsky Heroines" and more recently, the Mnemosyne series inspired by her residence in Los Angeles. Edvarda studied at the Art Academy in Oslo and the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
