MYT Works, Inc. Secures Patent for Multi-Purpose Camera Movement Tools

New York manufacturer secures patent for camera movement system that increases operator productivity.

MYT Works 3-IN-1 Patent Documentation

MYT Works, Inc. the only New York-based camera movement product manufacturer, is happy to announce that they have secured a patent for their camera movement platform. The Glide Slider was the first camera slider dolly that integrated this feature developed six years ago. At the time, founder, Etienne Sauret, was frustrated with the weaknesses of existing camera tools so he assembled a team of engineers to design and manufacture products that have multiple uses and can also last longer than other options.

The patent covers the 3-IN-1 design that turns a traditional camera slider into a multi-purpose tool that works 3 ways, on a Glide slider, with the MYT Works Rover dolly and as a stand-alone camera mount. At the heart of the design is the detachable Hi-Hat, which is a small, ultra-sturdy platform that is about 9.5″ x 6.3″ x 4.5″ that supports the camera head in the same way that a tripod would. The support serves as an intermediate platform that can then be attached to a Glide Slider carriage, a Rover Dolly or other supports such as a table, floor or apple box. The Hi-Hat also works with their Skater Dolly line of products, which is a second major product line.

We really are committed to innovation and attention to detail. We address a variety of technical issues so our clients can focus on getting a variety of shots in less time.

Etienne Sauret, Founder

The 3-IN-1 design makes it easier and faster to move the camera (and its entire package, which can weigh up to 150 pounds) from one support platform to another; or if an operator wants to put the camera down and have it be self-supporting. The time savings on each setup can really add up, especially when professionals must complete up 10-15 setups in a day, which can be typical in film production or on commercial shoots.

“We really are committed to innovation and attention to detail,” says Mr. Sauret, who has over 30 years of film-making experience. “We address a variety of technical issues so our clients can focus on getting a variety of shots in less time.”
