MVJ College of Engineering Organises Programming Classes for Socially Backward Students

MVJ College of Engineering as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is conducting a 3-day C programming classes for the degree students from socially and economically backward areas

MVJ College of Engineering as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is conducting a 3-day C programming classes for the degree students from socially and economically backward areas. This training programme is being held from January 18th to 21st at the MVJ College campus and is being participated by over 100 students from the villages in and around the college campus.

The 3-day training programme conducted by the Department of Information Science and Engineering, MVJ, involves introduction of basic concepts of computer and C programming followed by 3 hours of lab sessions daily. The students will have to take a test on the third day to check their performance. Certificates will be given to all students once they finish the programme and the test.

Speaking about the initiative Mr. MJ Balachandar, Chairman, MVJ College of Engineering said, "We believe that CSR activities should be a continuous commitment to ethically contribute to the development of society while improving the quality of life of workplace as well as local community and society. MVJCE has been regularly creating awareness amongst its students and faculty regarding CSR activities and encourages them to support such events. MVJCE offers its Infrastructure and Lab facilities to many government vocational courses to enable assist these students to work with the latest equipment."

Speaking about how the students were selected, Dr. Badrinarayan KS, Principal, MVJ shared, "The participating students live in near by villages and are in degree colleges run by the government. We sent out letters to these colleges and interested students have registered with us for the classes. We have limited the number of students to around 100 so as to give proper attention to each and every student."

Dr. Badrinarayan addressed the students on the importance of training Programme for their future enhancement and also encouraged the students to make use of facilities given by MVJCE in the best way possible.

M.J Balachandar congratulated the Dept. Of ISE for the initiative and wished the students to effectively utilize the resources and opportunity for better learning.
