MT2 Concludes Remediation of Shooting Range at Little Pine State Park
Arvada, CO, October 22, 2014 (Newswire.com) - MT2 of Arvada, Colorado announces the successful rehabilitation of the 6-acre shooting range at Little Pine State Park in Lycoming County. The latest major project of the leading provider of environmental remediation, firing range services, and overall construction services just reopened October 10th, 2014, as announced by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Last June 2012, MT2 embarked on the two-phase major shooting range cleanup. The first phase of the project covered the comprehensive cleanup of spent lead from the handguns and rifles. In Phase 2, MT2 reconstructed the shooting range to integrate various improvements.
“This project aligns with a nationwide effort to address the impacts of lead bullets and their accumulation in concentrated areas at shooting ranges,” DCNR Secretary Ellen Ferretti said in a statement. “We chose to be proactive by taking on this project in an effort to prevent lead from building up in the environment, and now have a much-improved range as a result of that process.”
Little Pine State Park shooting range reopened last October 10th, welcoming guests with brand new backstops; new surrounding earthen embankments; a pavilion partially nestling new shooting benches; better parking areas; and improved restroom facilities.
To ensure safe and environmentally sustainable shooting and range maintenance without compromising user experience, the shooting range was redesigned to incorporate management practices established by the shooting industry that are used in state-of-the-art shooting ranges.
In completing the Little Pine State Park lead reclamation project, MT2 had banked on its extensive experience in providing comprehensive firing range services nationwide for rifle, pistol, trap, and skeet ranges for the military and law enforcement, agencies and private clubs, as well as indoor and rubber berm ranges.
For over 14 years, the professional team has specialized, and is fully equipped, in conducting Range Evaluation and Consultation, Range Maintenance or Improvements, Range Construction and Reconstruction, as well as Lead Recovery and Recycling, and Closure.
