Moving Company Celebrates 55th Year of Business

Abels, the prestigious moving service welcomes its 55th year of business, 24 of which the company has had the honour to hold the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen for removals and storage services.

Every year thousands of new enterprises are born and a significant rise of a new breed of entrepreneurs has become a talking point in business over the last five years. With programmes such as The Apprentice and Dragon's Den putting a spotlight on businesses and new ventures it's important that we also reflect on those who have played a large part in being part of Britain's business heritage and history.

Abels moving company was founded in 1958 by the Abels family, father Noel and son Tony when they used to deliver goods to and from salerooms. By 1980 the company accumulated over 20 vehicles and employed a General Manager with a vision to get the company moving forwards. A year later Abels were charged with the mammoth task of manoeuvring Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding presents to their home. This paved the way for Abels to be awarded the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen for removals and storage services.

In 1991, the business split into three; retail and home delivery, removals and new office furniture and installation. The removals side of the company became under the watchful eye of Abels CEO Philip Pertoldi. To this day Phillip continues to ensure the customer service comes first, "at Abels, we are totally committed to providing a quality service for you, the customer. I believe we have the people, the resources and experience to more than fulfil our objective. If the service you receive ever falls short of the mark - then please do not hesitate to contact me personally."

At present, Abels currently offers removal services including national moves as well as an international movers service, classic car transport and the removals of antiques and arts.
