Motivis Learning Appoints New Board Members to Drive Growth, Vision for Competency-Based Learning

Motivis Learning, an educational technology company that has developed a next-generation learning platform specifically designed around competencies, today announced the appointment of two new members of the company’s Board of Directors: Arthur Levine, Ph.D., and China Gorman.

“I chose to join Motivis Learning because I believe the future of higher education will be competency based, and SNHU is a leader in charting that future” explains Levine. “I wanted a front row seat and an opportunity to help build tomorrow." Motivis Learning was spun out of the Innovation Lab at Southern New Hampshire University.

Levine is the sixth president of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation. Before his appointment at Woodrow Wilson, he was president and professor of education at Teachers College, Columbia University. He also previously served as chair of the higher education program, chair of the Institute for Educational Management, and senior lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

“I am a passionate advocate of teaming higher ed, business and workforce development to empower students of all ages to successfully prepare for their place in the economy,” says Gorman. “The collaboration of Southern New Hampshire University and Motivis Learning is resulting in new benchmarks for effectiveness in this arena. I am thrilled to join the team bringing Motivis Learning to the marketplace.”

Gorman has been successfully leading and growing businesses since 1985. She specializes in growing revenue and profitability, improving business competitiveness via a strong workplace culture and driving increased brand influence and impact. Gorman has served as CEO of the Great Places to Work Institute and COO and Interim CEO for The Society for Human Resource Management. She also serves on a number of boards in the HR and education spaces. Current affiliations include chairing Universum’s Americas Board, Jobs for America’s Graduates, RiseSmart, Inc., and the Workforce Institute at Kronos.

Motivis Learning’s new Learning Relationship Management platform is the only technology available today that is able to support the rapid growth and paradigm shift of competency-based education.

"We are thrilled with the recent additions of Arthur and China to our Board of Directors here at Motivis," states Brian Peddle, CEO of Motivis Learning.  "Both Arthur and China bring a wealth of experience from their collective years in industry and have already proven invaluable in their support of our mission. They acutely recognize the importance of transforming education to align with career and industry needs. I look forward to their continued contributions to our vision and growth."
