More speed and more TV - Bell Aliant gives customers more this fall with FibreOP

  • Watch shows already in progress - from the beginning - with FibreOP TV's "Restart"
  • More TV programming with 25 new On Demand channels - close to 1,000 more hours of quality content
  • The fastest Internet speeds in Canada get faster with the launch of Gigabit FibreOP Internet

Bell Aliant today announced exciting new enhancements for customers in Atlantic Canada with the launch of a new FibreOP TV feature called Restart, more On Demand TV programming, and Gigabit FibreOP, the fastest Internet experience in Canada.

"Restart and Gigabit FibreOP are the latest examples of Bell Aliant's ongoing leadership in delivering customers more of the innovative products and services they want," said Dan McKeen, Vice Chair and Senior Vice President, Residential Services, Bell Aliant. "The power of FibreOP means customers can watch more, do more, and share more, now faster than ever. These are the kind of innovations our customers are looking for, made possible by our 100% fibre to the home network."

The Best TV Experience just got Better - with Restart
Bell Aliant is the only TV provider in Atlantic Canada to give customers the ability to watch TV shows already in progress from the beginning with Restart. For eligible programming, customers can also browse backwards in the guide for up to 30 hours and watch previously aired programs as if they were live TV. This exciting new feature supports thousands of shows on over 100 channels including CBC, CTV, Global TV, HBO Canada, Super Channel, TSN and more.

Customers with both HD and PVR will receive Restart automatically over the next several weeks through a new FibreOP TV software upgrade. The software also enhances the FibreOP TV on-screen menu and channel guide, with a larger channel preview window, a Last Peek feature that shows picture-in-picture for the last 5 channels tuned, and an improved universal search with poster art. Upgrades are scheduled to be completed by the end of November.

In addition, customers will receive more TV programing with 25 new On Demand channels equaling close to 1,000 more hours of quality content added to our On Demand library and as the official broadcast partner for Atlantic University Sport (AUS), FibreOP TV1 offers all the AUS action on any screen at home or on the go with a smart phone, tablet or laptop. TV1 can be found on FibreOP TV channels 1 and 401 and online at

Combined with Restart, new On Demand content, an enhanced on-screen channel guide, and AUS sports on FibreOP TV1, FibreOP TV's best TV experience just got better in Atlantic Canada.
