Missing Peace Pictures to Produce Human Trafficking Feature Film
Renowned Actor/Producer Iyad Hajjaj teams with Award-Winning Director Mahmoud Kamel to tell story of a Young Girl Forced into Labor by Wealthy U.S. Family
Hollywood, CA, April 29, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Missing Peace Pictures is proud to announce their new project “Dreams I Never Had,” a film inspired by a true story of a teenage girl ‘Layla’ who is held captive as a domestic laborer in the home of a wealthy American family. She is befriended by the family's young gardener ‘Emilio,’ himself an illegal from Mexico. Their friendship carries both of them through their hopeless, sequestered lives and ultimately inspires them to break free.
Producer and Lead actor Iyad Hajjaj hopes that whoever views this film will abandon their prejudices against people of other races, religions, and cultures. Hajjaj has produced several films, and recently co-produced “Rapture Ranch” starring Lorenzo Lamas. Additionally, he worked as a cultural advisor on several Major Films and TV shows. His extensive and diverse filmography includes 58 acting credits, working alongside such stars as Sharon Stone and Jon Voight.
Scheduled to film in Los Angeles California this May 2016, Missing Peace Pictures has brought Award-winning Director Mahmoud Kamel on board to tell this story of a girl lost and found. “Mahmoud is an Egyptian native who has trained and worked around the world. His background brings authenticity and empathy to the subject matter,” says producer Iyad Hajjaj. Kamel directed feature films “Mekano,” “Adrenaline,” “Adams Village;” Egyptian TV series “The Blond Cat,” and a TV show in Dubai. Mahmoud’s films were accepted in numerous film festivals including Cannes, Venice and Berlin.
“Dreams I Never Had” will address the plight of America's "invisible" children - those who must live and work secretly, whether by choice or force. The young protagonists of this story can scarcely dream of achieving what we Americans take for granted - our homes, our education, our rights and privileges, our safety, our families, our citizenship, and most importantly - love.
This will be Screenwriter Lisa Savy’s third time partnering with Iyad Hajjaj. Their other projects include short films: “Not in My Backyard”, and “World of Wargames.”
Autumn Essie Bailey-Ford will also Co-Produce. Autumn is a well versed producer and entrepreneur; she has produced over three dozen independent film projects.
