Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Tablet Set To Release Next Month
Online, May 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Panos Panay, Corporate VP of MS, revealed that the surface pro will be released on 20th June 2014. However, pre-orders will be available from 21st May. So if you want to lay your hands on it, you can order it now. For those living in Europe, UK and Australia, they will have to wait until late August.
Cook argued that "they" are confused because "they're trying to make PCs into tablets and tablets into PCs." And it may be true indeed; Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 will be a tablet teaming up with a $129 keyboard to take on Laptops rather than tablets.
This "laptop killer" as termed by certain website, offers 12 inches of display with a resolution of 2160x1440. Surface Pro 3 weighs only 1.76 pounds compared to Apple's iPad which weighs only 1 Pound. According to Microsoft, the new Surface Pro will be available in Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 Haswell processors. Team Microsoft also revealed that the device will run 10% faster.
From connectivity point of view, Surface Pro has 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, USB 3.0 and a TPM 2.0 chip. MS reveled that the speakers will be 45% louder than before which is being considered as a significant improvement. Touch sensors encompass accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope and ambient light sensor. However, 4G is still missing.
Panay revealed that i3 versions will start as low as $799(£474). i5 will have two variants, 128GB storage, 4GB RAM at $999 and the other 256GB, 8GB version at $1,299. i7 will have two versions as well. 256GB, 8GB version will be priced at $1,549 while the other Core i7 version (512GB, 8GB) will be priced at $1,949.
