Miami HEAT Family Festival Raises $400K for Jackson Health Foundation's Guardian Angels

Jackson Health Foundation Guardian Angels were beneficiaries of the Miami HEAT Charitable Fund’s 2016 Miami HEAT Family Festival. The event raised over $600K of which $400K was earmarked for the Guardian Angels. Held on March 20 in downtown Miami, the festival drew over 5,000 people who came out to enjoy the carnival-like basketball extravaganza full of non-stop fun for the whole family. Presented by Carnival Cruise Lines, the event benefited the JHF Guardian Angels, SafeSpace, and the MIAMI HEAT Charitable Fund.

The JHF Guardian Angels raise money to enhance and expand life-saving pediatric specialty programs and facilities at Holtz Children’s Hospital.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Miami HEAT to raise funds needed to support critical programs and initiatives at Holtz Children's Hospital," said JHF President and CEO Keith R. Tribble.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Miami HEAT to raise funds needed to support critical programs and initiatives at Holtz Children’s Hospital,” said JHF President and CEO Keith R. Tribble.

Holtz Children’s Hospital is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the southeast United States and is known worldwide for its team of pediatric specialists experienced in treating children with all types of needs — from routine care to life-saving procedures. Holtz Children’s Hospital also trains the most pediatric physicians of any medical center in the southeastern United States.

The festival featured a ‘90s era throwback theme headlined by the entire Miami HEAT team and coaching staff where guests of all ages had countless interactive opportunities to engage with the HEAT players, coaches and their families.

The day of fun, family, and feasting featured a food court with over 40 of South Florida’s finest restaurants, a performance by Vanilla Ice, music by DJ Irie, the Miami Heat Dancers, Burnie the mascot, and a silent auction.
