MENTOR Announces the 2023 National Corporate Mentoring Honor Roll

Recognizing Corporations Across the Country Dedicating Outstanding Support for the Youth Mentoring Movement

MENTOR, the unifying champion for the mentoring movement, released its 2023 National Corporate Mentoring Honor Roll today. This list recognizes American corporations that offer support of and investment in mentoring opportunities to spur young people's personal and professional growth.

Launched by First Lady Michelle Obama in 2011, the Honor Roll challenges companies to support employees in becoming youth mentors. Since the Honor Roll's inception, corporate engagement in youth mentoring has increasingly reflected strategies that drive equity, connect youth to opportunity, and build a diverse and inclusive 21st-century workforce.

"By creating supportive environments in workplaces and communities, these companies provide substantial opportunity for young people," said Jeronima Nix, MENTOR's Director of Workplace Mentoring. "Their efforts provide young people with career guidance and networking opportunities, while employers enjoy increased retention and an interconnected workforce."

Honor Roll companies prioritize mentoring and drive volunteer mentors to mentoring programs, providing young people with social capital. MENTOR trains businesses across the US to offer mentoring experiences to youth in schools and entering the workforce. MENTOR's new Who Mentored You? study notes that companies' efforts can improve the contribution of mentoring to socioeconomic mobility and benefits employers through improved talent pipelines, more skilled and satisfied workers, and increased staff diversity.
