Project CHELA and PunchFlix

PunchFlix is partnering with Project CHELA (Children Helping Them Learn & Achieve) to support and encourage mental health awareness in the community.

The media giant and Project CHELA will be hosting a wellness event titled “Good in the Hood,” in which the two organizations encourage people to come out and help create a collaborative mural to spread the message of hope in the effort to empower our people and prevent suicide.

PunchFlix and Project CHELA believe that we must save our youth. We must change our children, one child at a time.

Tanya Flores, Executive Director Project Chela

“Good in the Hood” will be hosted at the Punch TV Studios headquarters at 11705 Willake Street, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670 on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at 10 a.m.

Project CHELA is a nonprofit organization that aims to prevent homelessness amongst at-risk youth and teaches kids and young teens the social and living skills they need to succeed in the real world. By partnering with this nonprofit for this prolific event, PunchFlix is supporting the community’s youth by showing them that they are not alone — they not only have the support of the community coming out to paint a mural together, but they are also supported by a premier media company. Hosting “Good in the Hood” at Punch TV Studios’ headquarters allows the kids and young teens to get a glimpse of movie-making magic right in their backyard and inspires them to strive for success.

Project CHELA and the PunchFlix family invite all of the community members to join them for a day of volunteering, networking and leaving behind a supportive message of hope to those suffering from mental health issues.

"PunchFlix Inc. and Project CHELA believe that we must save our youth. We must change our children, one child at a time," says Tanya Flores, Project CHELA executive director.

Come out and enjoy the music, entertainment, refreshments and guest speakers who aim to inspire hope and assurance that our brothers and sisters are not alone in their fight against mental health ailments. Come leave a personal artistic mark on a mural that will be around for years and will continue to instill the bond of community and the message of hope.

To find out how to volunteer, get involved, become a sponsor or donate, please call Tanya Flores or email Project CHELA.
