Media Training Pioneers Expand into Birmingham and Manchester
Online, May 24, 2011 (Newswire.com) - MEDIA TRAINING PIONEERS EXPAND INTO BIRMINGHAM AND MANCHESTER
The creators of a unique PR coaching programme are launching courses in Birmingham and Manchester after the success of their inaugural Stoke-on-Trent programme.
Richard Swancott Associates launched the Be Your Own PR Person programme in Newcastle-under-Lyme in June 2010, and are establishing similar courses in Walsall and Didsbury after generating sales worth £18000 in the first year.
There will also be another course in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Organisers believe joining forces with best-selling author Guy Clapperton, former Times and Granada TV journalist Nick Booth, and senior industry professionals from the Manchester Evening News and Birmingham Post will help them increase turnover to £90000 and recruit three more staff.
Owner Richard Swancott Associates said: "The economic climate has encouraged businesses to be more creative with their marketing budget and look for alternatives to advertising.
"PR is a viable option for any business but isn't always considered by small firms as it's often seen as the preserve of large companies and public sector organisations.
"Our programme teaches them how to handle PR in-house and provides unique access to media professionals, who can show them what's involved and advise on how to get the best possible media coverage.
"We are aiming to fill the three 2011-12 programmes and then recruit two more PR professionals and a business administrator."
The courses cover different aspects of PR on 12 monthly workshops. Subjects include generating national media coverage, organising publicity stunts, and writing award applications.
They will also provide guidance on using PR to improve a website's search engine rankings, and using blogs and social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to raise awareness.
In total, sixty places are available on the three 2011-12 programmes, which begin in July at the Lymedale Business Centre, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire; The Waterside Hotel and Galleon Leisure Club in Didsbury, Manchester; and The Fairlawns Hotel and Spa in Walsall, West Midlands.
Delegates can choose to pay £500+VAT or £1500+VAT to take part in the full programme, or £40+VAT if they want to attend individual sessions.
