Mary Alexander & Associates Investigating Northern California Wildfire Liability

Northern California Wildfire

On October 8, 2017, several wildfires erupted in Northern California. Fierce seasonal winds and dry terrain caused these fires to spread rapidly throughout Santa Rosa, Sonoma, and Napa Valley. The cause of these fires remains under investigation, however, many people suspect that downed power lines and/or transformer explosions may be to blame.

The fires have devastated the communities in their path. Tens of thousands of families have been forced to evacuate their homes and businesses. To date, more than 4,000 structures have been destroyed. More than 40 people have lost their lives and hundreds more sustained injuries caused by the Northern California fires. California Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency and stated that the current fires have been “one of the greatest tragedies California has ever faced.”

Mary Alexander & Associates, a San Francisco personal injury law firm, is currently investigating Northern California wildfire liability. In 2015, downed wires caused a fire that left two people dead, destroyed more than 500 homes, and burned more than 70,000 acres. Neglected regular maintenance of power lines was determined to be the cause.

When negligence causes property damage or injury, the responsible parties may be held accountable for their actions or inactions. Those who have lost property or have been injured in a fire-related incident should contact a personal injury attorney that has experience in handling cases involving complex liability issues.

At Mary Alexander & Associates, we work diligently for injury victims and have extensive experience with complex liability claims involving fires. If you have any information that may help us in our investigation, then do not hesitate to contact us at (415) 496-0089.
