Martins Industries officialy moved to Farnham in their new Lean Plant: Open House for the occasion
Online, June 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Martins Industries, manufacturer of storage systems, handling equipment and displays for tires, formerly at St-Alexandre has moved. The new building of 40,000 square feet located at 1200 blvd Industrial Farnham is now the new home of the company's operations. Their operations started at the beginning of May and the official opening will be on July 6th as they invite clients to come visit the new installations.
Martins industries took the opportunity that moving offered, to improve on their production processes and update machinery, this included the purchase of digital controls in an effort to improve their quality processes. They now have a robot for welding, and a numeric saw and a high performance break. The robot will be used to produce tire racks from our large orders. These changes were made in the spirit of lean management, which should allow them to transfer savings to their customers and thus improve their product offering and reduce production delays.
The decision to leave St-Alexandre was taken in a context of growth, and will enable the plant to triple its production. The conditions were sought to consolidate the distribution center of St-Jean and operations in one location in order to harmonize management. The choice of the emplacement was also made with the idea of having access to easy transportation routes in order to reduce delivery times.
Martins Industries has been designing and manufacturing tire & wheel racking, handling systems and display solutions since 1987. They are located in Quebec but distribute across the Americas and also have a distribution center in Oceania.
