Marillac and the Kansas City T-Bones to Partner Again in Support of Mental Health Awareness Month
Overland Park, Kansas, May 19, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Marillac wants to help our community learn how everyone can have a positive role in the life of someone challenged with a mental illness and have again partnered with the Kansas City T-Bones to increase awareness.
Marillac will be a feature at the May 28th T-Bones game to increase awareness surrounding Mental Health Awareness Month. This great event will be a beneficial opportunity for the community to enjoy a fantastic night with the T-Bones and learn more about behavioral health care needs within the community while supporting the youth and families served by Marillac.
Marillac is a state of the art, psychiatric treatment facility in Overland Park, Kansas. Our 17-acre campus is the only one of its kind in Johnson County specifically for children and adolescents challenged with mental and behavioral health issues. Marillac offers acute, residential and outpatient services and provides care 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
The Kansas City T-Bones are an independent, minor-league professional baseball team playing in the American Association. Their existence began with the construction of CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas, prior to the 2003 season. The team draws more than a quarter-million fans each season, putting them in the top five in average attendance in independent baseball. Since 2003, the T-Bones have made four playoff appearances, won one championship (2008), and the club is a four-time selection as the league’s Organization of the Year — most recently following the 2014 season.
