Marg Helgenberger On The Walk Of Fame
Online, February 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Marg Helgenberger, the 53 year old actress, who has been acting in the crime drama series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, for the last eleven years, is all set to get the 2458th star in Hollywood's Walk of Fame on Monday Jan 23rd, just two days before her final episode in CSI is aired on CBS.
Helgenberger who has won a Emmy award for her role in ABC's Vietnam War drama, titled China Beach, will be joined by her China Beach co-star Dana Delany and Jorje Fox from CSI for the inaugural ceremony at Musso and Frank Grill at the Hollywood boulevard.
In her acceptance speech she thanked her co-stars for joining her in spite of the heavy rain. She wished everyone a happy Chinese New Year. Marg said she expects great things to happen on this Year of the Dragon and believes the rain to be auspicious. She also congratulated the NFC giants, who defeated the San Francisco 49ers during the NFC championship.
She said that she is extremely humbled on receiving this rare honor and thanked her family and all her fans for being her biggest support system and in helping her to attain this rare honor of being placed amongst numerous great celebrities.
When quizzed about her reason behind quitting the show, Helgenberger said that tough she believed her role as Catherine Willows in CSI was the best role of her life, still she felt the need to step down from and explore the newer possibilities of life. She feels the show should redesign and reassess its potential after running successfully for 11 years continuously. The actress said, she wants to go on a vacation and hike with her dog, after she retires from the show. She has however confirmed that her fans have not seen her complete character and she is open to rejoin the show as a guest character, whenever it is required.
