Manufacturing Day at Reborn Cabinets Makes History for Anaheim

Manufacturing Day

Manufacturing Day (MFG. Day) is an annual nation-wide event. The tremendous success of this initiative has led to the development of Manufacturing Month which runs all of October. Partnering with the City of Anaheim Economic Development Department for the second year gave Anaheim schools and job-seekers first-hand invitations to join in the job fair and production tours.

MFG. Day is an event that allows manufactures and other organizations to showcase their facilities by opening their doors to junior, high and college students to tour and learn about the exciting and innovative technologies utilized in the manufacturing industry. By exposing future generations to this field, we can generate interest, motivate and reach those students who don’t know the plethora of opportunities available to them in manufacturing.

This year marked Reborn Cabinets’ 4th year hosting a MFG. Day event that included a job fair with twenty different businesses ranging from staff agencies, to the Better Business Bureau, the U.S. Army and the Anaheim Police Department, who were hiring for various positions. It was a special treat for everyone when local dignitaries: Anaheim City Councilmen Stephen Faessel and Trevor O’Neil, State Senator Tom Umberg, Janet Brown from the Office of Congressman Lou Correa, Karina Shaw from the Office of Congressman Gilbert Cisneros, Carolina Garcia from the Office of State Senator Ling Ling Chang, Josef Holper from the Office of State Assembly Member Sharon Quirk-Silva, Austin Mejia from the Office of OC Supervisor Doug Chafee, Avelino Valencia lll from the Office of State Assembly Member Tom Daly and Scott Voigts from the Office of OC Supervisor Doug Wagner attended to meet, give words of encouragement and share how a career in manufacturing can be rewarding.

When Reborn Cabinets hosted its first MFG. Day event, approximately 60 students attended. Today, in the fourth year participating, there were 320+ junior and high school students from Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Bellflower and as far as South Pasadena touring the showroom and production facility!

Tours were conducted by Reborn Cabinets team members from every department who described the process of cabinet making to the students. This event has turned into a Reborn Cabinets favorite. The smiles, wide-eyed awe and interaction with the students give everyone a renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for what we do.

‘Reaching out to our community and getting involved with our youth is important. When you think about it, it doesn’t take much of your time but to a youth, it can make a huge impact. Having the support of officials who are approachable and just as vested in our future generations means so much to businesses such as ours. At Reborn Cabinets, we believe that you can’t move forward without giving back. So, by opening our doors and hearts to host a MFG. Day event, we can only hope we’ve made a lasting positive impression,” says Diana Ramirez, Director of Community Relations.
