Make Your Giving Tuesday Donation a Gift to Patients and Families

On Giving Tuesday, we need to support efforts to help keep patients and families safe from medical error.

It's Giving Tuesday, and who is going to think about patients' safety on Giving Tuesday?

After all, it's the clinician's job to be sure we are safe. It's the nurse's responsibility to be sure we get the correct medication in our IV. And isn't it the doctor's responsibility to get the diagnosis right?

"Pulse . . . has been front and center in these discussions, providing training, education, advocacy and support."

Ilene Corina, President PULSE Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy

Isn't that why the grants and funding go to the hospitals and research institutions: so they can "measure" outcomes and develop patient safety programs for the staff to follow? Then why does the newest report now say that medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the country?

For 20 years, who has been making sure that patient safety information stays front and center to the daily lives of the clinicians who treat us? Who has been out in the community, holding focus groups, doing presentations, talking on the phone with patients and families, and visiting the bedside so families can support the patient and each other during times of sickness and injury?

It's been Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy (formerly Pulse of NY) front and center in these discussions, providing training, education, advocacy and support to patients and their families all over Long Island and beyond. We care about one patient at a time and we need to spread that further.

Now we need your support so we can continue this work in your backyard.

Make your donation today - and hopefully, if you need us, we will be here for you. A donation of any size from $5 up is helpful. Just as every patient is important, every dollar matters!
