Lumens and Icron Confirm USB 3.0 Joint Product Interoperability
Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven series successfully extends the Lumens VC-B30U HD PTZ USB 3.0 camera up to 100m over CAT 6a and 200m over OM3 fiber
BURNABY, British Columbia & FREEMONT, Calif., September 20, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and Lumens™ Integration Inc., a leader in optical products, announced today joint product interoperability between the VC-B30U HD PTZ USB 3.0 camera and Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven™ extender systems.
The Lumens plug and play VC-B30U HD Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) camera has USB 3.0 and HDMI video output interfaces for dual display. The camera has a Full HD 1080p output resolution with a high dynamic image rate of 60 frames per second. The VC-B30U works seamlessly with any conferencing software that supports USB 3.0 devices, offers 128 user-defined preset modes for ease of use in all environments and features a superior 12x optical zoom, making it ideal for any medium-size conference room.
Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven 3104 is the world's first backward-compatible USB 3.1 extender system for up to 100m over a single CAT 6a/7 cable, making it ideal for USB 3.1 broadcasting and web conference cameras as well as any other USB 3.1, 2.0 or 1.1 application, while the USB 3-2-1 Raven 3124 provides up to 200m extension over OM3 multi-mode fiber for applications requiring additional distance. Both models include the ExtremeUSB-C™ suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play operation (no software drivers required) and are compatible with all major operating systems including Windows®, macOS™, Linux® and Chrome OS™.
"Web conferencing is on a huge growth curve as companies big and small are taking advantage of the high-bandwidth resolution and ease-of-use provided by USB 3.0 cameras," said Steven Liang, director of product management at Lumens. "We are pleased to recommend Icron's USB 3-2-1 Raven extenders as an approved accessory for our VC-B30U camera when cable extension beyond five meters is required."
"Lumens PTZ cameras are widely regarded as being among the industry's best in terms of image quality and performance," said Glenn Antonelli, Icron's director of business management. "Now, installers have a viable solution for extending Lumens' cameras up to 100 meters over CAT 6a cable or 200 meters over OM3 fiber with full confidence of reliability."
