The place is ideal for people who like walking on the hills, visit historic places such as: Pisa(15Km), Florence(65Km), Siena, Viareggio, the Cinque Terre and other small typical Tuscan villages. The villa is located on the hills, but you can easily reach a supermarket (5 minutes by car) and other shops without having to drive into the centre of Lucca.
Lucca is quite a small city, entirely surrounded by tree-topped medieval walls. It has really good shops, and is plenty of artistic sights. Lucca is a wonderful little city with much to admire. One of Italy's finest mediaeval treasures, the centre is relatively unspoilt and is sprinkled with "palazzi", towers and almost countless splendid churches. The surrounding hills produce very good wines and arguably the finest olive oil anywhere (the famous olive oil of Lucca).
