Local singer/songwriter Michelle Lavallee was runner up in Global Country Star Search 2015. That win will see her country music career take a big step forward as she heads to Nashville with Global Country in less than two weeks.

Winners of Global Country Star Search, an event held in Edmonton, AB, are invited to travel to Nashville where they are mentored by successful country music artists, participate in showcases and songwriting sessions and then top it all off by competing in Pigeon Forge at the North American Country Music Associations International competition on March 12, 2016. The group hits the road on March 6th, returning on March 15th.

This year four Canadian country artists will travel with Global Country, an organization whose mandate is to preserve the history of Country Music, and develop new talent. Previous winners of Global Country Star Search include Brett Kissel, Aaron Goodwin, Trevor Panczak and Katie Mission, Candace Czuroski Taylor among others. According to Global Country's website, "Global Country offers a free management opportunity for Country Star Search Winners who qualify and are ready to be taken to the next level. Mentorship and guidance are the prime objective. Assistance is provided in songwriting, finding producers, securing funds to record, and then finding opportunities for record deals, full service management, and other elements required to move to the next level."
