Local Scarecrow Officials Plan Conference

Scarecrow officials are planning for the upcoming 2012 International Scarecrow Conference

Vesper, Wisconsin - Local scarecrows have convened at the International Scarecrow Headquarters in the bustling metropolis of Vesper, Wisconsin, to plan for the 2012 International Scarecrow Conference™. Next fall, scarecrows from throughout the world will be coming to their International Headquarters to discuss worldwide scarecrow concerns such as; new and better crow prevention tactics, farm animal predation, flying monkey defense strategies and fire prevention.

Annual committees will also be meeting to discuss scarecrow unemployment. While 100% of scarecrows working during the fall months, employment is non-existent during the other ten months of the year. This prolonged period of unemployment brings the scarecrow community to tatters.

The Scarecrow Anti-Discrimination & Self Awareness Confederation (SADSAC) will be introducing its new motto for 2012 "We do have a brain! We do have a brain!" SADSAC tackles the ongoing issue of world-wide scarecrow discrimination. "Calling us strawheads and brainless may be technically accurate but we still don't like it," states SADSAC spokesman Guy Rook-scarer.

There is also a symposium addressing straw quality and predicted shortages in the future. Conference members will be discussing the establishing of a straw bank cooperative for the future. A sub-committee will once again attempt to establish a straw quality rating system. Previous attempts have failed due to the sub-committee being run by empty-headed scarecrows.

~~~Children and parents from Vesper Community Academy build scarecrows every fall and place them around the village. They invite everyone to come and take a look at their creations and enjoy the fall colors in and around Vesper. Vesper, Wisconsin is located on the banks of the scenic Hemlock Creek in the center of the state. Surrounded by gentle rolling hills, forests, farmland and cranberry bogs, the village is ideally located for relaxation and recreation. Hunting, fishing, trapping, canoeing, skiing, summer, fall, winter, and spring - there is always something to do.~~~
