CHICAGO, April 19, 2023 (Newswire.com) - Earlier this year, local Chicago-based ophthalmologist and LASIK eye surgeon Dr. Gerald Horn of LasikPlus successfully performed his 100,000 LASIK eye surgery procedure, reaching a major career milestone few other local LASIK eye surgeons in the greater Chicago area or across the nation have achieved. Working with an amazing team of optometrists, technicians, and other health care professionals, Dr. Horn has been humbly and faithfully serving the local Chicago community for decades.
Dr. Gerald Horn, M.D. is a laser vision correction specialist and one of the pioneers in the field of refractive surgery, having dedicated the majority of his career to laser vision surgery. Dr. Horn received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his medical degree in ophthalmology from the University of Illinois Medical School. He completed an internship at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital and went on to complete several mini-fellowships on LASIK and PRK and various predecessor technologies such as radial keratotomy and ALK. Dr. Horn is a fellow of, and board certified by, the American Board of Ophthalmology. He joined LasikPlus in 1997 and has performed well over 100,000 laser correction surgeries during that time. Dr. Horn is an emeritus member of the LasikPlus Medical Advisory Board and continues to evolve and contribute best practices for achieving clinical and operational excellence as one of the primary surgeon leaders of LasikPlus Chicago. When not helping patients with the wonders of laser vision correction, Dr. Horn enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, and doing pharmaceutical research, including being directly involved in the patenting and development of medical drops to help presbyopia and helping develop the 'blockbuster' eye whitener drop Lumify.
