Littler Mendelson Attorney James E. Hart Joins the Board of The Discovery Eye Foundation

The Discovery Eye Foundation announced that attorney James "Jim" E. Hart has been installed on its Board of Directors.

The Discovery Eye Foundation announced that attorney James "Jim" E. Hart has been installed on its Board of Directors. The Discovery Eye Foundation (DEF) is a leading nonprofit that supports groundbreaking research, education, and advocacy related to sight-threatening eye-diseases and their treatments.

"I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and contributing my legal expertise," said Mr. Hart. "The Discovery Eye Foundation is involved in funding crucial pioneering research in helping find cures to some very devastating eye diseases. Playing a part and supporting these efforts are very rewarding."

Mr. Hart is a litigator, founding member and partner at Littler Mendelson in Irvine, California. Littler Mendelson is the largest U.S.-based law firm exclusively devoted to representing management in every aspect of labor and employment law. Mr. Hart represents and counsels public and private sector employers on a wide range of employment and labor matters.

Prior to joining Littler Mendelson, Mr. Hart practiced criminal law as a deputy Attorney General in the California Attorney General's Office. While at the Attorney General's Office, he prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors and defended criminal convictions on appeal and in habeas corpus proceedings. He participated in an exchange program with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office and worked in the business affairs department at an entertainment company. Mr. Hart also served as an extern to the Honorable Federal District Court Judge Consuelo B. Marshall of the Central District Court of California.

Mr. Hart's memberships include the Employer Advisory Council of Orange County,
Orange County Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, British American Business Council of Orange County, University of California at Irvine Alumni Association, TechAmerica and the Southern California Business Ethics Roundtable.

Mr. Hart earned his B.A. at University of California, Irvine and received a J.D. with honors from Pepperdine University School of Law.
