Limited Tickets Available To The 2010 Nedbank Golf Challenge

Limited tickets to the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge are on sale at Computicket outlets throughout South Africa. This year, the big guns of the local and international pro golf tours are expected to slug it out for the glittering $5m prize.

With well over 65 000 golf enthusiasts expected in Sun City for the duration of the tournament, scheduled to take place from 2 to 5 December 2010, the organisers have opted to limit the sale of tickets to 10 000 adults and 10 000 children per day.

There are only weeks to go until the tee-off of Africa's richest golf tournament, so it's essential to book your tickets as soon as possible.

About the Nedbank Golf Challenge

An annual event since 1981, the Nedbank Golf Challenge is an invitational stroke play event, where 12 of the top golfers on the planet are invited to pit their skills against the challenging Gary Player Country Club golf course, one of two spectacular courses at the Sun City entertainment complex.

Golf superstars including Spain's Seve Ballesteros and Sergio Garcia; the USA's most consistent performer in the top five of the Official World Golf Ranking, Jim Furyk, and both 2010 Ryder Cup captains, Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin, have clinched the title over the years. So too have South African greats, Retief Goosen, Trevor Immelman and Ernie Els, who has three challenge trophies in his cabinet!

Selection requirements

The selection requirements are based on the performance of players throughout the year with the only exception being the defending champion, who is guaranteed a spot in the 2010 line-up. In this case, it is Australia's Robert Allenby who will be in South Africa to defend the title.

The Sunshine Tour's Order of Merit winner, Charles Schwartzel, the four Majors winners, Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell, Louis Oosthuizen and Martin Kaymer, as well as the top ranked players on the Official World Golf Ranking are all invited to challenge the title, which has carried valuable world ranking points since 2006.

Will Tiger Woods make it?

As the world's number one golfer, Tiger Woods is on top of the invitation list - an invitation he has declined over the years. Could this be the year the Tiger comes out to play in the African bush? Avid spectators and golf enthusiasts will have to wait and see.

With thousands of fans expected to make the trip to Sun City to watch the golf live, it's a good idea to source and book accommodation and car hire as soon as possible.
