Lifesum Announces New Update to Its Digital Health App, Helping Consumers Shelter-at-Home

​​The digital health app Lifesum has announced a new content and software update that will help consumers bring more variety and nutrition to their diet while they are abiding by the current Stay-at-Home order during the global pandemic.

This update includes three recipe collections, Nutrient Boost, Cooking Projects and Snack Time, which offer more than 80 healthy and flavorful recipes to cook at home.

Prioritizing nutrient-rich ingredients that help support a healthy immune system, Lifesum provides users with easy-to-make meals with simple instructions to create healthy and balanced meals. Recipes for main meals include dishes such as Green Curry Tofu, Yogurt Bark, Potato Frittata and Hummus with oven-baked chicken. For healthy snacking, Lifesum has also added recipes like no-bake energy bars, tuna bites and peanut butter and chocolate smoothies.

As many people may also find themselves with more time at home to cook, Lifesum’s Cooking Projects provides users with recipes that may take more time, but turn a routine evening into a culinary event. 

The CEO of Lifesum Henrik Torstensson says his team of nutritionists and chefs wanted to give users new tools to help them navigate this unchartered territory, especially for people who are forced to cook and eat at home but might not know where to begin. 

“The Lifesum team is always looking for new ways to help our users get healthier,” said Torstensson. “It gets harder to continually eat healthy when your options at home are limited. We specifically created new recipes designed for this moment in time. No more boring and bland meals. Our users have a whole database of recipes to help them cook healthy and nutritious meals at home.”

The Lifesum in-house Registered Dietitian, Kajsa Ernestam, says her team spent weeks researching what users struggle with when it comes to healthy eating and created a plan to make it easier. 

“Our internal data shows consumers are more likely to eat less-healthy snacks when they’re working from home,” said Ernestam. “If you keep track of your meals on Lifesum and stick with these recipes, everyone can stay healthy while stuck at home.” 

These meals are high in nutrients, keeping consumers healthy. LIfesum translated these recipes into 11 languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Swedish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Dutch and Danish.

Consumers who want to download Lifesum and try out the new recipes can download the digital app on iOS or Android.
