Library Partners Press Announces Writer in Residence
Call for Nominations
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 6, 2018 (Newswire.com) - In partnership with Wake Forest University, Library Partners Press (LPP) is pleased to announce the Call for Nominations to be its first-ever Writer-in-Residence (WIR).
The residency is open to all writers of prose or poetry, fiction or nonfiction. We are especially keen on debut authors and folks writing outside of their genre.
Books are our friends.
Every Librarian Everywhere
Library Partners Press will provide a $1000 stipend (and “guest” library privileges) to selected writers who intend to publish their completed manuscript with Library Partners Press. The (mostly virtual" residency is designed to assist writers who may need time, publishing expertise, or just solitude to complete their manuscript. Applications will be judged by the Library Partners Press Editorial Board.
All nominations should be submitted via this form: http://go.wfu.edu/lppwir
All LPP WIR Nominations should include a description (or sample) of the work-in-progress and maybe a brief explanation of how this type of library residency would benefit both the author and the to-be-published work-in-progress. Writers and nominees may also submit samples of (or links to) previously published work. This is optional.
All nominations are due May 30, 2018, and residencies will be awarded and announced by July 30, 2018. Library Partners Press will be pleased to hold a reception and/or "launch party" in the writer’s and in the resultant magnificent monograph’s honor at the conclusion or at the start of the residency -- we'll probably have a party at both at the start and at the conclusion, to be honest, because we're like that.
