The Lemur Conservation Foundation (LCF) is a not for profit organization dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the primates of Madagascar through art, captive breeding, education and scientific research.

LCF aims to preserve and contribute to the worldwide genetic pool of lemur species through domestic and international captive breeding and to practice the best conservation methods and techniques possible.

The reserve in Myakka City is not open to the public as the lemurs are the most endangered primates in the world and their free roaming forest habitat is a restricted research area. The denizens of the forest are free to play, rest and roam with the minimum of human interaction.

LCF is certified by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a fully registered charitable organization, regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS) and the registration number is CH36728.
