Lendistry announced today that Janet Perez has joined their Business Development Team as Vice President. Prior to joining Lendistry, Ms. Perez was a Sales Finance Manager at World Business Lenders.

“Janet shares Lendistry’s passion for small business,” says Everett K. Sands, CEO of Lendistry, a growing leader in online lending. “She has earned tremendous reviews from her clients and we’re excited to have her on the team.”

If not for alternative lenders, businesses would find it difficult to grow and continue to meet the needs of their communities.

Online lending has become a growing source of small business funding since The Great Recession of 2008 caused hundreds of community banks nationwide to close and forced traditional lenders to enforce stricter loan requirements.

“As banks shrink their lending box, it is up to us to help small business owners who play a vital role in the country’s economy,” Ms. Perez explains. “If not for alternative lenders, businesses would find it difficult to grow and continue to meet the needs of their communities.”

For Perez, small business is not just a passion, it’s in her blood. “Coming from a family of small business owners, I feel it is important to help small businesses grow because they are truly the backbone of our economy,” she said. “This is one way I can give back to my community.”

One of Lendistry’s tenets is the importance of small business in creating jobs, growing local economies, and strengthening communities. To help businesses succeed, Lendistry offers their clients business coaching and mentoring through their partnership with nonprofit, The Center.

“Not only are they providing small business owners with working capital, but they are also providing them with the knowledge to be in a better financial position for the future,” Ms. Perez said. “Lendistry is a company of values, community values that put people first.”

A graduate of the Latina Global Executive Leadership & Entrepreneur Institute at USC, Ms. Perez remains active in the university’s functions. She will be a featured alumni panelist at Latina Leadership Reception & Panel sponsored by USC Marshall School of Business on Thursday, April 20, 5:30-8:30pm. The panelists will discuss their experiences as Latina business leaders with a focus on negotiation strategies. The free event will be held at 515 South Flower Street (33rd Floor) in Los Angeles.

In addition to her career in small business lending, Ms. Perez sits on the Board of Directors of the Long Beach Community Action Partnership, a nonprofit organization that fights poverty and helps people achieve self-sustainability.
