Leadership for Youth Summit: Our Future Leaders Today
Online, April 13, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Not every one is destined to be a congressman, mayor or governor. Or even councilman or chairman. Maybe you don't think you're cut out to be a leader in any way, shape or form. Or that there are those who have the leadership in their genes.
You don't have to be on the debate team, student council and or above every one else in scholastic achievements to be a leader. Future leaders come from all walks of life.
Some will lead our country on all levels of government, state, county and city. Our future youth leaders will need training, they will need mentors, and they will need every ounce of confidence we can give them. Our young people will need skills in communications, leadership, problem solving and more. The more programs they can train in the better. They will need powerful learning activities that are high in interaction and will be thought provoking.
They will also need to be a team player. No man or woman is an island. Youth leaders will emerge to find community projects and will intern with government agencies, business and non-profit organizations. They will learn how to present themselves with confidence and poise, be skilled public speakers, great at interviewing, and understand etiquette. They will serve as leaders in every capacity available.
The more experience we can give them now the better. The more exposure they have to the leadership world the more prepared they will be when they take the places of the older leaders that will eventually replace.
Our youth leaders are the future. How we guide them will be entirely up to each of us.
