The import enhancement replaces the existing manual tools to allow the fast consolidation of the project data. This saves considerable time, money and reduces the risk of manual errors, especially when there is a large amount of data being processed.
The import tools use Microsoft Excel to process the data so no additional software is required.
The process to use the import tools is very simple. The project manager submit the project reports as part of a regular reporting cycle. The submissions are saved into a predefined directory. The path to the submissions is entered into the import tool. Then, at a click of a button, the submissions are imported into the consolidation template.
The import tools contain checks to advise how many submissions have been imported so that it is possible to check that all submissions have been received. Some of the import tools allow filters to be set i.e. to only import open risks.
When the data has been imported, filters can be used to analyze the data i.e. filter all risks with a Due Date in the past.
