Billie Hillier, FrugalFerret.com, a Las Vegas savings blogger has made it to Round 2 of the Cheap Sally's "Bring Home the Bacon Contest." She continued on to the next round with four other bloggers from Nevada and was in the number one position when the voting ended on October 31.

The voting for Round 2 began on November 1st and will end on November 30th. If she makes it to Round 3 she will be representing Nevada in a national "shop off" against the top winner from other states. The winner of the shopping phase will win $100,000 guest blogging spot with Cheap Sally. "I really want a chance to win this. We are trying to start a non-profit, 5 to 50, and the money would really help get started with some bacon in the bank."

The non-profit will focus on "stretching donation dollars" by using price matching and coupon to maximize sale prices. She commented, "Literally, I can sometimes turn $5 into $100 retail. These items are then donated to groups that have been identified as needing the items we are buying."

In August Billie donated approximately $2,000 worth of school supplies to her husband's company that was collecting for a local school. "I only paid about $75 for everything and most of that was tax, which is why we really want to become a non-profit so we can do more with our money." State Billie.

Also, in September she donated approximately $3,000 worth of food and health / beauty items to Whitney Elementary located in southeast Las Vegas. "There are so many groups that need help and using my mad shopping skills I can get a lot for nothing, well... almost nothing."
