Las Vegas DUI Accident Leaves 3 Year Old Dead

A 70-year-old man was driving under the influence when he lost control of his Dodge Ram and rear-ended a Toyota Corolla. Three passengers were taken to the nearby hospital where one was pronounced dead.

On Oct. 25, a deadly car accident left a toddler dead. The collision occurred on the corner of East Carey Avenue and Sandy Lane just before 4:00 p.m. A 70-year-old man was driving a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 when he rear-ended a 1993 Toyota Corolla.

Witnesses standing on the side of the road claimed that the 24-year-old driver of the Toyota was stopped at a red light in the eastbound lane of Carey Avenue. The Toyota contained three passengers, a 34-year-old woman and two girls ages 2 and 3.

Right before the Dodge came crashing into the back of the vehicle, the driver and passenger of the Toyota were talking with pedestrian. The driver of the Dodge sped down the street and failed to get control of the vehicle.

All three passengers of the Toyota suffered injuries and had to be taken to University Medical Center. The 3-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital. The condition of the driver is unknown.

Following the crash, a passenger was seen fleeing from the Dodge Ram. Their condition or identity has yet to be determined.

It was later found that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol. He is being charged with DUI causing death and DUI causing substantial bodily harm.

Currently, the man is being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail. He is expected to appear in court Oct. 27.
