Larson Electronics Releases Temporary Power Distribution System, 25 kVA, 480V to 120V
KEMP, TEXAS, June 19, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a temporary power system that converts 480V AC current to single-phase 120V AC and 240V AC 60Hz. This 25 kVA system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators and direct grid power.
The MGL-25KVA-480-12X120.20A portable temporary power distribution system is made for outdoor use and features a fully potted transformer and NEMA 3R load center. This system is configured to transform 480V AC to 120V AC or 240V A and can connect to up to 10, 20-amp, 120V devices on 120V circuits through 5-20 GFCI protected receptacles with waterproof covers. This unit comes with 25 feet of 8/3 Type W line-in cable for connecting the unit to a 480V primary power supply.
Larson Electronics’ portable temporary power distribution system features a 60-amp fused disconnect containing two 60-amp time delay fuses that provide primary line-in protection and supplies primary power to the transformer. The secondary current is wired to a 120/240V single-phase 100-amp load center with protection to the main circuit breaker and 120V line-out protection is provided by 10, 20-amp, 125V single-phase pole breakers.
The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a steel dolly cart style frame with two run-flat rubber tires. This power distribution system is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds, shipyard operations, and more.
