Larson Electronics Releases Power Distribution Substation, 75 kVA, 480V to 208Y/120V 3PH, 25-Foot Cord
KEMP, Texas, December 13, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a power distribution substation that converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This power distribution substation provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators and direct grid power. This unit is NEMA 3R rated for use in indoor and outdoor settings.
The MGS-480.3P-3X60A-75KVA-208Y.120-2X60A-12X20A power distribution system comes with a 25-foot #4 Type W cord with a 60-amp 480V DS60 33-98043 cord cap that brings three-phase 480V power to the 100-amp, three-phase 480V main lug only panel on the primary side. The primary side features three 60-amp 480V DS60 33-34043 receptacles and one 100-amp 3-pole 480V primary breaker that passes power to the transformer. The 75 kVA-rated transformer converts 480V to three-phase 208Y/120V 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary panel.
Larson Electronics’ power distribution station features a secondary transformer side that feeds a NEMA 3R 125-amp three-phase 208Y/120V main circuit breaker panel. The secondary side features two 60-amp 3-pole 250V breakers that protect two 60-amp 120/208V 560R9W receptacles and 12, 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers that protect 12, 20-amp 125V 5-20R GFCI receptacles. The transformer and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform.
The load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame and comes equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking casters, and a top-located lifting eyelet. The transformer is grounded to the frame via a grounding lug that is provided. Suitable applications include construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds, exhibits, and more.
