Larson Electronics Releases Power Distribution Substation, 225kVA, 480V-208Y/120V, NEMA 3R
KEMP, TEXAS, May 22, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a power distribution substation that converts 480V AC three-phase electrical current into single-phase 208Y/120V AC. This 225 kVA unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators and direct grid power.
The MPD-2X480.100-225K-12X120.20-3X208.50-2X208.100 portable power distribution substation features a 400-amp cam lock input cord that brings 480V three-phase power to the NEMA 3R 400-amp 480V three-phase main panel that has one 300-amp breaker and tow 100-amp breakers that protect two 4100R7W receptacles and passes 480V three-phase through to the transformer. The transformer converts 480V three-phase to 208Y/120V three-phase and passes the current to the secondary panel.
The secondary side of Larson Electronics’ power distribution system feeds a NEMA 3R 600-amp 208Y/120V three-phase main panel and has two 100-amp 208Y breakers that protect two 100-amp 4100R9W receptacles, three 50-amp 208Y breakers that protect three 50-amp 460R9W receptacles, and 12 20-amp 120V breakers that protect 12 20-amp quad GFCI receptacles. All receptacles come equipped with weatherproof covers.
The transformer and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform and a load center/distribution assembly that is mounted to a standard 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon tubing frame. This unit features forklift skid pockets, locking casters, and a lifting eyelet on the top of the unit. Suitable applications include indoor and outdoor use, plant maintenance and turnarounds, construction sites and more.
