Larson Electronics Releases Power Distribution Substation, 120/240V AC 1PH, (6) 5-20R GFCI Duplex
KEMP, Texas, September 4, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a power distribution substation that accepts 120/240V AC single-phase electrical current on the primary side and provides 120/240V AC single-phase via output receptacles on the secondary side. This substation provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 120/240V AC power from generators and direct grid power.
The MGP-CF-120.240-100MB-2X240-6X120-RD portable power distribution substation allows operators to power their 240V and 120V equipment from a single system. The primary side allows operators to connect 120/240V AC line-in power via 10 feet of #4 Type W cord with a 100-amp 125/250V 4100P12W cord cap. This cord can be extended by connecting to an included 200-foot #2 Type W cord with a 100-amp 125/250V 4100C12W connector secured to a hand-crank cord reel.
Larson Electronics’ portable power distribution substation features a secondary side that allows operators to connect to two CS8269 receptacles for 240V equipment and to six 5-20R GFCI receptacles for 120V equipment. The main circuit breaker panel on this unit contains two 50-amp 2-pole 250V breakers protecting two 50-amp 250V CS8269 receptacles and six 20-amp 1-pole breakers protecting six 20-amp 125V 5-20R GFCI receptacles. All receptacles on this unit are equipped with a weatherproof cover.
The transformer and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame. This unit features forklift skid pockets, locking casters and a top-located lifting eyelet. The transformer is grounded to the frame via a grounding lug that is provided and suitable applications include indoor and outdoor use, construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds, and more.
