Larson Electronics Releases Portable Power Distribution Substation, 75 kVA, 600V to 208Y/120V, 3HP
KEMP, Texas, February 6, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a portable power distribution substation that converts three-phase 600V AC electrical current into three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This substation allows operators to safely tap into and distribute 600V AC power from generators and direct power grids.
The MPD-600V-75K-208Y.120V-2X100A.3P-2x20A.2P-2X20A.1P portable power distribution substation allows operators to power their 208Y/120V equipment from a single system. The transformer and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted on a standard 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame. This unit is equipped with forklift skid pockets and a lifting eyelet located on the top of the unit.
Via a customer provided cord, 600V three-phase power is driven to the 100-amp 600V three-phase NEMA 3R primary disconnect, which contains three 100-amp time delay fuses and passes 600V three-phase power to 208Y/120V three-phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side contains a 225-amp 208Y/120V three-phase NEMA 3R main lug only panel, two 100-amp 3-pole 250V breakers, two 20-amp 2-pole 250V breakers and two 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers.
This transformer is grounded to the frame with a grounding lug provided and is made to withstand harsh conditions and heavy-duty industrial applications. This transformer can be used both indoors and outdoors at construction sites, used for plant maintenance and turnarounds, and more.
