Larson Electronics Releases Explosion Proof Fused Disconnect, CI, II, III, 600V Rated, 2-Pole, 60-Amp
KEMP, Texas, February 16, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion proof fused disconnect for use in hazardous locations. This 2-pole disconnect is equipped with time-delay fuses and offers delayed response to surges, making it suitable for dealing with pulse currents and temporary overloads in motors, HID lights, and HVAC systems in flammable work areas.
The EPFDS-60A-3P-2X60A.600V-TD explosion proof fused disconnect is rated at 600V AC and features three, 60-amp 2-pole 600V time-delay fuses that feature 10-second time delay at 500% overload. These fuses can withstand electrical surges for 10-15 seconds making this unit ideal for equipment that relies on high-voltage current on startup. This unit has an internal circuit breaker handle in a sliding plate type design mounted to the cover and can be mounted easily to flat surfaces.
Larson Electronics’ explosion proof fused disconnect features four NPT hubs with two cast 2” NPT hubs on the north and south sides of the unit and two cast 0.5” NPT hubs on the north and south sides of the disconnect. This cast aluminum unite has a rectangular bolted cover design and stainless-steel bolts. The external on/off switch can be locked into ‘off’ with room for up to three padlocks for extra security.
This unit is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups C and D; Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB and IIA; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F and G; and Class III. This unit is also NEMA 7 (C, D) and 9 (E, F, G) rated. Suitable applications include use with HVAC systems, in storage areas, processing facilities, and more.
